Red Dragon Longsword Academy teaches sword fighting techniques of the late medieval and early Renaissance periods. These techniques are taught in a martial context and are designed to dispatch opponents quickly and effectively. We are not a re-enactment or LARP group – although our methods can be used to improve martial skill in both of these pursuits.

Our classes cater for a diverse mix of people from all ages (18 and over), sexes and backgrounds. They are great for physical fitness and for anybody who has an interest in history.
We encourage our students to spar and some have ranked very highly in HEMA tournaments around the globe. Sparring is optional but is seen as an essential way to pressure test techniques.
We train on Monday nights from 19:30 – 21:30 at John Bright’s Leisure Centre in Llandudno. First class is free. After that it is £6 per class.
